Select PlayStation 5 consoles are getting yet another price increase in Australia

PlayStation have announced that Australia, along with New Zealand, Europe and the UK are all going to be paying more for PlayStation 5 Slim and PlayStation 5 Digital consoles starting tomorrow.
Roughly 2.5 years after they raised the prices, another round is hitting. The price increase is taking effect on the 14th, however the news comes from the USA, so it will be the 15th for us.
Here are the new prices and the former:
Standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – $829.95 - Up from $799.95
PS5 Digital Edition – $749.95 - Up from $679.95
As you can see the price jump for the Standard Edition is not that large, but the Digital Edition is going up $80. The PlayStation 5 Pro console is not changing its RRP, so it remains $1,199.95.
There is some good news though, as the PlayStation 5 Disc Drive will be lowering in price:
PlayStation 5 Disc Drive – $124.95 - Down from $159.95
These price increases for the console come just days PlayStation confirmed that PlayStation Plus was also increasing in price, you can read about that here.
The most frustrating part of these price increases is that they are not global, only impacting select regions and in a twist you won’t believe, the USA is not impacted by either of those changes in price. If you wanted to get a PlayStation 5 console, then today is your last chance to pay less.
