The most disappointing games at E3 2021

E3 is always going to have games to impress and delight, with surprises around every corner, but sometimes there are reveals, trailers or just something about a few games that make you sad, these are the ones that made it happen for us.

Rocksmith+

Rocksmith came out at a time when the plastic guitar phase was almost gone completely, but instead of it just letting you play the songs, it was going out of its way to teach you songs. Rocksmith+ is doing the same thing, except now with a monthly cost to it, plus it uses your phone, to connect to the ‘game’, so your guitar can be heard, unless you are on Switch, then you get nothing.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster

Ah Square Enix, if someone was going to make this list, it would be you. First up this is meant to be a celebration of the first six titles in the Final Fantasy series, but instead, it is unknown what exactly it will be. Apart from a few bits of pixel art, which many have said is worse than what it was, we know nothing about this release, outside of the platforms, which begs the question, why even bother saying anything right now.

Babylon’s Fall

After teasing up the reveal for a while, Babylon’s Fall had a lot to live up to, the next game from Square Enix and Platinum Games, there was a lot riding on it, which is why this trailer killed a lot of the hype. It was horrible, with words that made no senses, rough footage to boot and beyond that, it explained nothing about the game, leaving many to wonder, what was going on.

Demon Throttle

You might think a Devolver Digital title is on this list, because it makes little sense, but that is not the case, this one is here because the how you get is, makes little sense. For some reason they have elected to release this game as a physical only item, which is not unusual, in fact it was only in the previous console generation that digital and physical became standard. The catch is this is being done by a 3rd party company, which means you have to pay a lot for the game, then shipping and wait a few months to get it, which is just wrong.

Rainbow Six Extraction

Oh Ubisoft, two entries on the list is not good and why is that you ask, simple, they have again decided to mess with Rainbow Six and instead of giving players an actual tactical shooter, have expanded the Siege formula to be just more generic shooting, but with characters. Extraction on its own, could be interesting, but it didn’t need to be attached to this series, right now, if you want a proper Rainbow Six game, you are best to head back to the Xbox 360, when Vegas was released, which if you are counting was over 15 years ago.
