Star Wars next show The Acolyte gets a full cast as production begins
Lucasfilm have announced that The Acolyte, an all-new Star Wars series that is set during the time of The High Republic has begun production, with the cast for it announced.
The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.
If you don’t know about The High Republic Era, you may not be alone as so far its only been books and comics, but Star Wars Eclipse will be the first game and this is the first show. This time in the galaxy is many hundreds of years before The Phantom Menace, so there is no Emperor in the background and the Jedi are in their prime. You can learn more about The High Republic here.
As for the show, the creator is Leslye Headland, who created Russian Doll and is staring Amandla Stenberg, but today the rest of the cast was announced.

There is no air date set for the show, but given how quickly they can turn things around, either late 2023 or early 2024 is likely.
