Netflix and Xbox are bringing Gears of War to screens once more
Netflix and Xbox have announced that they are working together, with the Gears of War studio The Coalition, to develop a live action movie based on the game series.
This new movie has nothing to do with the one that was planned back in 2007, when New Line Cinema got the rights to develop a movie. Back then Australian writer Stuart Beattie was on the case, his recent work includes the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It is highly unlikely that they will use anything written from then for this new movie.
Once the movie is done, there will also be an animated series, which is something Netflix have done a number of now, like Castlevania and Dragon’s Dogma.
Gears of War was released 16 years ago today and to mark the occasion, Netflix has partnered with The Coalition to adapt the @GearsofWar video game saga into a live action feature film, followed by an adult animated series — with the potential for more stories to follow! pic.twitter.com/3zInFSnUu4

There are no details on when these might hit screens, but it is nice to see that someone cares about the Gears series.
