Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord is the next animated series

Star Wars Celebration events always reveal new things, you can track everything here, but those at the show tend to get the news first. Case in point Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord was revealed at the end of the Lucasfilm Animation 20th anniversary panel, but only to those in the audience.

The show is a new series set after the events of the final season of The Clone Wars, Maul rises again to lead the underworld factions. Sam Witwer, who has been voicing the character in animation, is back to voice the new show.

The show is in active production right now and will land on Disney+ sometime in 2026, but there is no firmer date than that, or when those who were not in the room will get to see the sizzle reel. The only thing public is the logo, which does look cool, but given that Maul has always worked as an antagonist, I don’t know how the show will go with him as the lead.
