God of War gets new update, adding photo mode and more today

Kratos's newest adventure has been getting rave reviews, but it seems that the team at Santa Monica Studio have not stopped working on the game as today, it was announced that a new update is hitting, giving players more options.

The biggest addition to the game is a photo mode, letting you pause the game, whenever you want and snap that important shot. Jeet Shroff, Engineering Lead at Santa Monica Studio took to the PlayStation Blog to talk about the new mode.

With God of War, we hoped to craft a game experience that was both a technical and art showcase. So adding Photo mode was a no brainer! With Photo mode, players will be able to unleash their creativity and experience the world, its fast paced combat, the beautifully crafted environments and its deadly characters like never before. With player choice being such a central theme to many of the decisions we made on God of War, we sought to deliver a Photo mode with lots of options and we’re excited to put it in your hands!
To control the Photo mode camera, use the Left and Right Thumb Sticks to navigate around the scene, and use the R2 and L2 buttons to pan up or down. You can move the camera back to its original position at any time by clicking Square.

The update will also allow for text and UI enhancements, as well as the ability to remap the Rage mode buttons. You can read the full blog post here, but if you want the update, just make sure your console is online and it should download for you.
