Game Update: God of War Ragnarök
With God of War Ragnarök being quite the success for PlayStation, you would be forgiven if you thought that the studio was going to take sometime to relax and savour the praise, but it seems not as they studio have been hard at work on an update, which is out now.
Of course one of the major additions is the New Game+ mode, which will let players start over, keeping their progress and gear, which includes the Draupnir Spear. There are some restrictions though as you won’t start with access to Sonic and Hex arrows. All areas requiring either those arrows or the Draupnir Spear to access will not unlock until you have reached the point in the main questline in which they become available via the story.
What you can do however is upgrade your gear even more, thanks to the increased level cap. That means you will be able to convert all your Level 9 equipment (armour, weapons, weapon components, and shields) into new ‘Plus’ versions that will provide additional levels of progression. Converting your equipment will also yield a Gilded Coin that can be used to purchase one of the new Enchantments from the shop.
Just be aware upgrading the armour is not the only level cap increase, as both Kratos and all enemies have been given a boost as well.
It isn’t just a new game mode there are also new armour sets, new enhancements, updates to the Niflheim arena, updated endgame bosses and so much more. The PlayStation Blog has the full breakdown of what is included in the update.
