Years later God of War Ragnarok is getting an update to make it less annoying
With God of War Ragnarok out today for PC, there are two new additions to the game that will make the experience better for players there, but worry not console players, they are coming to you.
The first update is a small one Cinematic Audio Descriptions, when enabled the game will play audio descriptions of visual events during cinematics. These descriptions will provide additional contextual information alongside the spoken dialogue to create a more detailed experience for players with low vision. See it in motion in the trailer below.
The major update though that makes me very happy is now when you enter a room, your companions won’t immediately point out puzzle solutions. Ok, you have to turn it on in the gameplay settings, but the Reduce Puzzle Hints Option will do just as what it says, reduce the number of hints the game gives you.
As I have been playing through the God of War games on stream, this makes me very happy, because far to often in Ragnarok, I have walked into a room, only to be given a hint that basically solves the puzzle, before I have even looked at the room proper.
While PC players have these new updates today, there is no date for PlayStation 5 owners yet, sadly it looks like they won’t be coming to PlayStation 4, as the official blog post just states console version, indicating singular.
