One of the games that Nintendo showed to attendees was Yoshi’s Woolly World, the game made its début in screenshots a few years back but now we could go hands on.

In the demo that I was able to play, there were three different levels available which offered a good chance for all to see what the game was all about. Now unlike most game demos at E3 Yoshi’s Woolly World had no time limit, meaning you got as long as it took you to finish the stage; which is awesome because that’s the point of the game.

Now you might think that just like Kirby’s Epic Yarn the game only looks like its made from wool, but you would be very much mistaken. The game is made of wool and yarn, stray bits of wool can be pulled to unravel and discover secret areas or throwing balls of yarn at enemies will see them being tied up.  In fact its not just the interaction with the world, Yoshi is even down with the wooly way.

As you run around, after sometime Yoshi will sprout wheels or should you launch yourself into the air and then use Yoshi’s flutter jump to reach a higher place, Yoshi’s legs will morph into a propeller. Even as Yoshi pushes the large balls of wool around, his face is squished against it, it really is amazing at just how the entire world reacts to what you are doing. If you have ever played a Yoshi game in the past the controls here will make sense the moment you start to play.

Overall the demo felt amazing, I can’t wait to add this game to my collection at home.
