Xbox have revealed new hardware options coming this October

Overnight Xbox have revealed the details for the new Xbox Series hardware that they teased a few months back, including the release date and prices.

There are three models coming to stores on October 15th and while none will offer new features, in terms of power, they are different that you might be tempted, depending on what you have now.

First up is the White 1tb Series S console, which joins the previously released Black edition. The RRP for this Xbox Series S 1tb White Edition is $549

The next one is also white, but is the Xbox Series X. The insides are the same as every other Series X console, however it just does not have a disc drive, making this a purely digital Series X, the first one made. The RRP for the Xbox Series X Console 1TB – Robot White Digital Edition is $699.

Finally there is the slightly sparkly looking Series X, which is the same console, but with a sparkly outside and green highlights. The same effect is applied to the controller as well. The only internal change is that it now comes with 2tb of storage, as opposed to the 1tb that the non-sparkly black Series X console has. The RRP for the Xbox Series X Console 2TB – Galaxy Black Special Edition is $999

The problem Xbox have is that people were already confused between the Series X and Series S, on a naming front alone. Now there are 3 of each console, with the differences being colours and storage, for the most part. The Xbox Series X having an all-digital option is great and should have been what the Series S was, but now if people want the Series X console, they have to specify which colour and then size.

The below chart outlines 4 of the 6 possible types, only because the White Xbox Series S has two storage options.
