WWE 2K22 drops a new trailer and screens, ahead of the release next year

Over the weekend, there was another WWE Summer Slam, which I am sure many folks loved, but what gamers will have noticed is that WWE 2K22 got a new spotlight video shown during it, giving everyone the first proper look at the game, check it out.

Wrestling fans may have spotted some familiar faces in the trailer, including Rey Mysterio, who did show up in the reveal trailer a few months back. This time though, he wasn’t along as we also got our first look at more fighters, such as Roman Reigns, Goldberg, Bayley, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, The Miz, Sheamus, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rhea Ripley, Finn Bálor, Ricochet and Kane.

We also got to see some new screens of Edge, which is above and below, showing off all the detail in the character model, from the face to the buttons on his jacket.

After the less than stellar reception of the last game, the team at Visual Concepts have been hard at work on this one, which is why the game won’t release this year, like many had thought. Instead the game will launch in March 2022 and while that is a while away, a more deeper presentation around the game will come in January.

This won’t just be another entry in the series as WWE 2K22 will come packed with new controls, completely redone graphics, and a redesigned engine for the most impressive wrestling experience to date. To prove that it won’t just be more of the same, 85% of the in-game roster has taken part in facial scanning for ultra-realistic and updated character models, and more than 3,400 new animations have been captured.

As of now, there has been no confirmed platforms announced for the game.
