Halo Infinite will launch with a few things missing
Halo Infinite was meant to be a console launch game for the Xbox Series X and Series S, but with only weeks until it was due to launch, Xbox and 343 Industries announced that it would be delayed 12 months, in order to give players the best game ever.
Now though, they have announced that when the game is released, it won’t be complete anyway, as both campaign co-op and the Forge editor, will not be present in the game, coming later on.
"Unfortunately, as we focused the team for shut down, and really focused on a quality experience for launch, we made the really tough decision to delay shipping campaign co-op for launch. And we also made the tough call to delay shipping Forge past launch as well," Joseph Staten, Halo Infinite head of creative.
The Forge editor not being there at launch isn’t really an issue, as they launched it after Halo 3 released and as it is always getting updates, folks are always going back to it, however the lack of campaign co-op at release is a concern, as it has been a staple of the series for decades now.
So, the question clearly remains, if they are not going to be there at launch, when will they be playable, well they did provide an update for that as well. Season One will launch with the game, with the campaign co-op coming in Season Two and then finally Season Three will introduce Forge, as for how long each season will last, that is unknown, but most other games that do seasons, have them run around three months.
