WWE 2K22 drops a new trailer, teasing more about the game
2K and developers Visual Concepts said that there would be more information about WWE 2K22 in January, but it seems they just couldn’t help themselves, as overnight they dropped a new trailer for the game, that highlights 10 of the biggest changes, improvements and additions to the series, including the all new MyGM, check it out.
The 10 items focused on in the video, do have a little more detail below, but the three big ones are the addition of MyGM, the addition of MyFaction and of course that all new engine.
MyGM is a mode that many players have been asking for, for years now and the team are finally adding it to the game. When players boot into it, they will take the reins as a WWE General Manager and draft your very own roster of WWE Superstars, managing contracts and booking matches of all varieties to prove that you’ve got what it takes to build and run the show.
For something a little more specialised, there is MyFaction, where players can get creative by building and taking control of a faction of their own. D-Generation X, New World Order, and The Corporation are just a few of the iconic factions assembled through the years, and now it’s your turn to create the next legendary team. Collect, manage, and upgrade WWE Superstars and make your faction the greatest partnership in WWE history
Finally, the last big call out, at least from my point of view, is the games new engine, this was built from the ground up, meaning that when you punch, your character will punch, throw someone to the mat and watch them bounce, it also means incredible visuals and tighter controls, will this stop those random issues that the last game was plagued with, the dev team think so.
Here is the full list of the 10 changes they are talking about today:
Redesigned Gameplay Engine: The most important change in WWE 2K22 is in the engine itself. Visual Concepts redesigned the gameplay and animation engine from the ground up to make every dive, kickout, and finisher feel as real as if players were sitting ringside at WrestleMania. As soon as players pick up the controller, they’ll feel the difference;
New Controls: The updated and incredibly intuitive control scheme hits different this year. Configured to ensure that players have more control over every move, in every situation, WWE 2K22 is easy to pick up and play, while still allowing for high-skill expression;
Stunning Graphics: Simply put, WWE 2K22 boasts the best-ever graphics of the WWE 2K franchise. Scanning and animations are executed using the same industry-leading process as Visual Concepts’ NBA 2K franchise and the team overhauled lighting and relit the game from the ground up;
Immersive Presentation: The most dynamic entry in the series to date will take players out of the crowd and into the ring, creating an authentic WWE feeling throughout the game;
New WWE 2K Showcase: Players can take a walk down memory lane and relive a legendary WWE Superstar’s most iconic matches and moments;
MyGM: Players will draft superstars, book matches, manage contracts, and prove they have what it takes to run the most successful brand in sports entertainment;
MyFACTION: In a franchise-first, the all-new MyFACTION puts players in control of building a legendary faction that rivals the iconic nWo. Players will collect, manage, and upgrade Superstars, with weekly events and regular updates;
MyRISE: An opportunity for players to experience the journey of a WWE Superstar from the humble beginnings of a Rookie, followed by the fanfare as a Superstar, and then immortalized as a Legend. New storylines will be available for both male and female MyPLAYERs;
Universe Mode: Universe Mode returns, offering players more control than ever before over brands, PPVs, match results, rivalries, and much more;
Creation Suite: The Creation Suite is back and better than ever. Players can be themselves or someone/something entirely different, with all sorts of wild options and fantasy elements, then step into the ring at anytime and anywhere in the world.
More details are coming in January, so expect to learn more about each of these points and additional ones then, with the game aiming for a March 2022 release and as of yet, no platforms have been announced, but I would wager it is Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
