Valorant is the next title from acclaimed developers Riot Games

Riot Games, the folks behind the little game known as League of Legends, have announced their next title, say hello to Valorant.

In this free-to-play game, featuring high stakes gameplay where teams of five will complete in a number of game modes, to win at all costs, players will choose from a diverse cast of hypernatural, battle-ready agents from real-world cultures and locations.

Each character will bring a set of unique abilities that complement gunplay through tactical information and strategic support, changing the way players approach a situation. Perhaps the coolest part is the abilities are designed to create tactical opportunities for players to take the right shot, but that doesn't mean you have to be the one to take it. Check out an early look at the gameplay below, direct from the developers themselves.

Riot Games are touting that winning or losing will come down to player skill, as they are best-in-class technical back-end, which translates to, no matter the PC you are running, expect to get great performance.

“Throughout Valorant’s development, we wanted to uphold the fundamental values of a competitive tactical shooter: precise shooting, lethal gunplay, and strategic execution,” said the game’s Executive Producer, Anna Donlon. “By adding unique character abilities that complement the game’s gunplay we believe we’re expanding upon the traditional tac shooter experience and bringing something new to the genre - and we hope the launch of Valorant will be the start of a long-term relationship with tactical FPS fans from around the world.”

While it is still early days, we do have some screens of the game, which I am sure you will agree do provide some feelings of familiarity, but more than that, below, we have some concept art of some of the characters, like Cypher, Jett, so check them out.
