The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Switch has been updated and feature cross saves now

Saber Interactive are the folks who brought The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to Switch and they seem to have been busy as the game has scored a large update, adding a host of new features to the game, including the option to import your PC save.

Gamers who have save files on Steam or GOG.com can download them to their Switch, but even more importantly, you can upload it again and then pick up the action on the PC when you want.

In addition to the cloud saves, players now have more visual options, including bloom lighting, light shafts and more. Here are two lots of screens, the images on the left are with things left to their normal settings, the ones on the right are with everything turned off.

As you can see, with everything off, some of the textures in the first appear to be blurier, which is different to what I expected.

An official patch notes list was also release, which gives more detail around the touch controls as well.

Update 3.6 — list of changes:

  • Added touch control support for Gwent and menus

  • Added save file integration with GOG, Steam and versions of the game for Switch from different regions.

  • Added more text languages (in selected regions).

  • Added more graphical options.

  • Added multiple performance optimizations.

  • Fixed various visual and functional bugs.

  • Various gameplay and crash fixes.

While transferring saves from PC, please keep in mind:

  • Mod-related bugs and blockers might get transferred from a modded PC game save file.

  • If the save file name has been changed on PC, the Switch’s Cloud Save feature won't be able to recognize it.
