Star Wars' Obi-Wan Kenobi force pushes its release date back two days
In a move that is utterly insulting to many Star Wars fans, Disney and Lucasfilm have announced that Obi-Wan Kenobi will not premiere on May 25th as planned, but instead will now have a two episode premiere on May 27th, in order to have it air during Star Wars Celebration.
Star Wars Celebration is a massive fan event, where a few years ago, Ewan McGregor walked on stage to confirm he would be back as Obi-Wan, the catch with these events though is that they never leave the USA, outside of that one London show and now seem to be anchored in Anaheim.
So fans of Star Wars, who don’t live near Southern California, either have to pay for flights, hotels and then tickets, or miss out on the event and now, those same fans are being told they have to wait two more days, just so the show can ‘premiere’ during it.
The limited run series is set to have six episodes, so with the two episodes launching, that means by the end of June, all the episodes should be available to watch.
