Star Ocean First Departure R is releasing this December

Square Enix have announced that Star Ocean First Departure R, the remastering of the remake of the original game, will find release on Switch and PlayStation 4 on December 5 and to celebrate, they have released a new trailer.

Originally released in the west on the PSP, Star Ocean First Departure R tells the story of a young swordsman, Roddick, and his companions who at first set off on a journey to find the cure to a deadly disease, which then spirals into an adventure that spans across the sea of stars.

In this HD version, players will be able to experience the game with the original designs of the characters, or the newer ones, but the more impressive part is that the dialogue can be played in English or Japanese. For those that do go for the Japanese track, they will have a choice, they can have the original track, which was never released outside of Japan, or they can have the new track, completely remade, by the original actors from the games initial Super Nintendo Release.
