Star Ocean First Departure R has set sail today
Square Enix have announced that Star Ocean First Departure R is out now for PlayStation 4 and Switch, giving modern consoles a taste of a classic. Originally the game came to the West on PSP, where it was remade from the original Super Famicom release, but now it has been remastered for new platforms, check out the launch trailer below.
The game adds as host of improvements and changes to the game, to make sure it is accessible to newcomers and those range from a speed mode, where the game lets you move around the world faster.
On top of the game, the games Japanese audio was re-recorded, with the games original cast coming back to do it, over 20 years later. The game now sports an english track as well, letting you chose the one you want.
Finally, you can swap between the games new look or keep with the classic visuals, making this one of the most customisable RPG’s ever, before you even start playing.
