Square Enix have announced The DioField Chronicle, an all-new tactical game, coming later this year
Square Enix have announced via the recent State of Play, The DioField Chronicle, an all new tactile strategy game, that is coming to all platforms, later this year, check out the debut trailer below.
The world of The DioField Chronicle is beautiful and familiar, as it blends fantasy, medieval and modern-day together, to create something unique. Under the steady hand of the Shaytham dynasty, the Kingdom of Alletain on DioField Island has known peace for 200 years, but suddenly find themselves cast into an age of uncertainty due to the rise of warlike powers and modern magic.
The Kingdom of Alletain is rich in the mineral Jade, prized for its use as a base ingredient in magic and sorcery, and the attention of both the Empire and the Alliance inevitably turns towards the island. Players will take control of a band of elite mercenaries calling themselves “Blue Fox”, but will the name “Blue Fox” come to signify hope or darkest tragedy?
The game is being developed by Lancarse, who just shipped Monark last year, but it has a few big names attached to it as well. The characters have been designed by Taiki who is best know for Lord of Vermilion III, IV) and the games concept art has been done by Isamu Kamikokuryo who worked on FINAL FANTASY XII and FINAL FANTASY XIII.
Music though is being done by Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell, who are most well known for their work on Game of Thrones.
The game itself is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S sometime later this year.
