The Valkyrie series lives on as Valkyrie Elysium is coming later this year
The recent State of Play ended with Square Enix revealing that the Valkyrie series is getting a new entry, with Valkyrie Elysium coming later this year, check out the debut trailer below.
The game tells the story of a young Valkyrie who is entrusted with the fate of the world by the All-Father, the highest of gods and ruler of all creation. She will face various enemies on her quest and must utilize a variety of weapons, magic and the power of her allies to prevent Ragnarök—the destruction of the world.
Fans of the series may notice some familiar melodies as music from series regular Motoi Sakuraba, will make an appearance in the game, while the gameplay will drive the series forward in a fresh, new direction with classic combat mechanics, such as finishing moves and combo systems, reimagined for an action-RPG.
The game is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam later this year.
