Samsung have revealed when gamers can get eyes on with the Odyssey Neo G9

Samsung had announced the Odyssey Neo G9, an ultra-wide monitor that is so big, it fits the equivalent of 2 UHD displays within it, with its screen size of 7,680×2,160, back at CES 2023. However there was no release date, but that has changed today as the monitor will be on sale this next week.

Price wise, the screen will retail for $3,199 and will be available online directly from Samsung, you can visit here to get registered, because anyone who does register and buy the screen, before it releases on August 28th, can get a special offer.

Its 1000R curved 57” screen uses quantum mini LED technology with VESA Display HDR 1000 specification to deliver superior imaging in most game environments, from shadows to bright scenes. The Matte Display reduces light reflection on the screen, minimising distractions during the most intense gaming sessions.

It also boasts the world’s first DisplayPort 2.1 support, which transfers data approximately twice as fast as the previously used DisplayPort 1.4. In addition, the new DP2.1 allows lossless industry-standard Display Stream Compression (DSC) to transmit information without distortion. Plus if all that was not enough, the screen also sports a refresh rate of 240Hz, ensuring that you never miss anything that happens

We recently got a chance to check the screen out in person and it is a big boy. When you sit in front of the screen, the curve means that it feels like its pulling you in. In an interesting turn, when I was sitting in front of it, I never noticed the curve, but when looking down from above, you can see just how much it does curve.

The panel is an IPS display and at the event they also had the Odyssey OLED G9 and that looked amazing, which sort of made this one look less, but the screen still looks amazing. It would take many more hours dive into the nitty gritty, but I am sure there are dedicated tech reviewers who are chomping at the bit to do just that.

For me, the screen is a great size and when not in a game, which was something I was curious about, it handled the Windows aspect without issue.
