MLB The Show 22 announced, coming to all consoles this year
For years MLB The Show has been the best (and only) Baseball game and if you wanted to play it, you had to be on a PlayStation platform. A few years ago, that was set to change when the MLB themselves said it was coming to the others and last years version was released on Xbox, this year Switch is getting in on the action.
As is their normal pattern, the team at San Diego Studio have revealed the cover athlete first and gameplay will come later. This year Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani will be on the cover of the game, check out the reveal for him below.
The game will launch on April 5th for all platforms, that is PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with the game being available inside of Xbox Game Pass on release day yet again.
The game will also allow for full cross-play and cross-progression, meaning that if you have the game on Switch and your friend is on PlayStation 5, you can still play together. The only exception is with the Stadium Creator mode, as that is exclusive to the next gen versions of the game.
Cross-Progression means that you can link your console to the MLB The Show account and take your stats, cards and everything with you, no matter which platform you want to be on. Maybe at home you are on Xbox, but you want to enjoy the game on the go, so you get it on Switch as well.
The game is coming in two configs, the standard edition, which will be on all platforms and the collector’s edition, which will be on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Details for that are to be released later this week.
