Lara Croft is hitting TV screens again, with a new series on its way

It should be said that a second series is on its way as Amazon MGM Studios have ordered a new series based around Lara Croft, simply called Tomb Raider.

Details on the show are very light, but we do know that Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be writing and producing the series, alongside developers Crystal Dynamics. There is no episode count, casting information or even a generic thread about the story, so its very early days.

If I could tell my teenage self this was happening I think she’d explode. Tomb Raider has been a huge part of my life and I feel incredibly privileged to be bringing it to television with such passionate collaborators. Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ‘n all

This is not even the first Tomb Raider tv series on the way, as Netflix have Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft coming later this year. The series is a continuation of the recent reboot trilogy and has Hayley Atwell lending her voice to the character, check out the first look for that below.

If you love Tomb Raider, but want a more interactive experience, the next entry in the series is still in development, though it has been 18 months since the news that Amazon Games would be publishing the game, was revealed.

Either way, with a live-action tv series, a new animated tv series and a new single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure game all coming soon, means it is a good time to be a Tomb Raider fan. More so after the original trilogy got the remaster treatment earlier in 2024.
