Killing Floor III needs time to wax the floor before release

Over the weekend, Tripwire Interactive announced that Killing Floor III would no longer release on March 25th as planned, but would now instead release later in the year, no new date was given.
The usual reasons were given, they just wanted more time for polish, thus my waxing joke in the headline. The problem is the delay was announced barely 2 weeks ahead of when it was expected to release and if it was just a little extra polish, it should have picked up a new date, or at least a new month.
But that is not the case, as you can see via the message below, the games date is so unknown that pre-orders are being refunded. That never bodes well for a game, the last time in recent years that I can recall something like this happening was with The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake from Ubisoft, which was delayed so much, it shifted studios and is now expected in 2026, rather than the January 2021 date it was first given.
I will never expect a developer to work insane hours to release a game, so if they need more time, then I will always give it, but when a game that is so close to release, gets a delay to who knows when, it just never bodes well.
With the game not having a date at this time, there is no telling when it will come out, but with them hoping for later 2025, we will hopefully hear about the games new date sooner rather than later.
