Assassin's Creed Shadows slips out of its planned release date and into February
Ubisoft have announced that they will be delaying the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows from its planned November release and will now drop the game on February 14th, the reason, they wanted more time to polish the game up.
You can read the full statement below, but a few extra details were revealed during the companies investor update. The key part was that they would be transitioning away from the season pass model that they have been doing for many years now, the statement about it reads:
We are departing from the traditional Season Pass model. All players will be able to enjoy the game at the same time on February 14 and those who preorder the game will be granted the first expansion for free
Given the game is a single player game a season pass made no sense, so moving away from it, at least for this game is a step in the right direction. Giving away the first expansion to all who pre-order the game does seem like a nice gesture, but there is no word on how big that expansion is, we will have to wait and see on that.

The other big piece of news here is the game will release onto Steam at the same time as it launches on to other PC store fronts, namely Ubisoft Store and Epic Game Store. A few years ago Ubisoft made the decision to stop with Steam day one releases, instead opting to release them on Epic Game Store and fans were not happy. The games eventually came to Steam, case in point Star Wars Outlaws will release on November 21st, but for many PC players, Steam is the only place they get their games and if it isn’t there day one, they don’t care.
So what say you, does the delay impact your plans for the rest of the year or are you not concerned about the release date at all?
