In yet another setback, the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake has moved development to Montreal
Ubisoft have announced that development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has moved development to their Montreal location, having started out in Pune and Mumbai. The news was released in the statement below, or view it here.
This of course, is just another weird twist in the production that is the Prince of Persia remake. The game was first announced in September 2020 during the companies first Ubisoft Forward event, with a planned January 21st, 2021 release date.
Just weeks before the game was meant to release, the game was delayed to mid-March of that year, but then in mid-February, it was delayed indefinitely, before it was confirmed in September of last year, that the game would not release until the end of Ubisoft 2023 fiscal year, which is March 31st next year.
So after two release dates and two delays, the two studios leading development have been put in position two, as Montreal takes the reigns. With luck, the fresh team on it, can get things back on track and the game releases sometime soon.
