Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 has been announced and is speeding to an October release
Plaion and developer Milestone have announced that things are going to get hot once more, when Hot Wheels Unleased 2 races to release this October, check out the reveal trailer below.
The game is set to come to all platforms, so Switch, PC, PlayStation and Xbox and will offer up more of what players loved from the first game, but this is not just new tracks.
The game will launch with over 130 vehicles, including motorbikes and ATVs and as players complete races they will be able to use skill points to customise their favourite rides, giving them their ultimate build. As far as modes go, the game will feature a number of online offerings, but for the first time will offer up a story driven campaign, complete with original characters.
For those looking to race against other players, the game will offer up new modes for online and off. Two-player splitscreen returns here, so those sharing a couch can compete for first place, but those looking to race online can enjoy cross-play, well except Switch owners.
Like the first game there will be a handful of locations that players will get to race around, but the surfaces will vary, meaning that cars that work great on one, might have issues on another. Vehicles will also interact with several objects both on and off the track, making races even more unpredictable.
Along with the greater diversity of vehicles and environments that open up more dynamic and strategic racing scenarios, daring driving and manoeuvres skills are tested with the addition of two new abilities – dash and jump. Dashing will throw your car to the side, letting you take down the competition, where as jumping will let you leap over other cars and even over obstacles to find a shortcut or two.
The game is set to release on October 19th for all platforms, but they have not released screens of the locations at this time, just a small selection of the impressive vehicle collection.
