GSK is joining the fight in Season 1 of XDefiant

Ubisoft have revealed a lot of details about the first season of XDefiant, which includes the addition of GSK from Rainbow Six as the new team, along with new maps, weapons and a new mode. Check out the trailer below to get a good overview of what is coming, as the season kicks off later today.

GSK comes from the Rainbow Six world and as such they have some very cool tactical options available to them. The two items that players can choose from are the electrified barbed wire, which is perfect for creating a roadblock in the enemies path. The second item is the Active Defence System, which will target any explosives, like a thrown grenade.

The squad contains Kaptan, Krieger and Stark and each can make use of their G52-Tactical Shield. Check out the trailer below to get a good idea of what they are capable of.

With each season of the game a new map will be included each month for the season, so seasons are set to last around 3 months, which means 3 new maps a season. Here are the maps coming in Season 1.

Clubhouse

Be cautious of challenging patrons in the short to mid-range while exploring both levels of this combat operator entertainment center. Prime attractions include the club, the hot-rod garage, and the aptly named "money room."

Rockefeller

Carnage Castle takes over the ice rink in this renowned slice of Big Apple real estate. Here, you can engage in rapid-fire combat or test your long-range skills from strategic vantage points in the adjacent toy and clothing stores.

Daytona

Navigate aggressively along this perilous track, where precision from a distance and velocity are both crucial to clinching the checkered flag. Take advantage of the car exhibit for intense duels. Remember, precision is key: Bullet holes are not easily repaired.

Taking the fight to the new maps will be made all the more possible with new weapons, as Season 1 introduces the LVOA-C Assault Rifle, the L115 Sniper Rifle, and the Sawed-Off Shotgun secondary.

The games new mode that is coming as part of Season 1 is Capture the Flag, which will be exactly as you imagine it, your team must capture the flag of the enemies team and return it to your base, while defending your flag from the enemies attack.

For those seeking a challenge against players of similar skills, Season 1 will also provide the debut for Ranked Play. Ranked mode matches you with players of similar skill in 4v4 battles, featuring unique rulesets distinct from casual playlists. Climb the ranks to unlock exclusive rewards and aim for the top 500 to secure an additional exclusive reward, solidifying your status as an XDefiant Legend.

Finally, with a new season comes a new Starter Pack and Battle Pass options. You can see what is included in the two Starter Pack options below, for the Battle Pass that is further down.
