Gimmick! 2 gets its first trailer and details
Sunsoft, along with Clear River Games and developer Bitwave Games have released the first proper trailer for Gimmick! 2, the first game since the original title from the NES era. Check it out.
In a strange world, this is the second game this week to be shown off, with its last original entry back on the NES, with Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club being the other. It is not odd for old games to get new entries of course, but it is weird that two games from the 80s both got new entries revealed in the same week.
Gimmick! 2 returns for an all-new epic journey, preserving the charming, colour-soaked visuals of its predecessor while incorporating stunning animations, endearing new characters, and secrets around every corner.
Honouring the challenging gameplay of the original, Gimmick! 2 offers a robust yet equitable challenge for platforming enthusiasts of all ages, with an easier mode available for players seeking a less demanding platforming experience.
Revealed alongside the trailer was the news that the games score will be composed by famed videogame musician David Wise, who composed the Donkey Kong Country series, the Battletoads series and much more.
The game is coming to PC, Switch, PlayStation and Xbox later this year, but there is no set date at this time.
