Where to place your order for Nintendo Switch 2 in Australia
New consoles don’t happen all the time, so it is a big deal, the last new consoles were back in 2020. Now with prices for these, all the retailers are pretty much sticking to the RRP, though you can save 95c here or there.

From EB Games you would spend $1029.75, but from JB Hifi you would pay $1025. Now that may not sound like a big saving, but those extra few dollars could help you out elsewhere.

Nintendo Australia are selling the consoles direct, but there are a number of requirements in order for you to get one.
Registrations are now open, click here to submit your entry. If selected in that group, players will have 7 days between 18:00 24th April 2025 – 11:59 30th April 2025 to place their order. There are also two more rounds, here are all those details:
1st Round of Pre-purchase
18:00 24th April 2025 – 11:59 30th April 2025 AEST
Register your interest by 11:59 17th April 2025 AEST to go into the draw
2nd Round of Pre-purchase
12:00 5th May 2025 – 11:59 9th May 2025 AEST
Register your interest by 11:59 1st May 2025 AEST to go into the draw
3rd Round of Pre-purchase
12:00 15th May 2025 – 11:59 19th May 2025 AEST
Register your interest by 11:59 12th May 2025 AEST to go into the draw
Sadly, if registration and hoping you get drawn was enough, Nintendo have also added in some extra rules. In order to register your interest in Nintendo Switch 2 you must meet each of the following criteria:
For a total of at least 1 year, have been subscribed to a Nintendo Switch Online membership as the purchaser.
Have more than 50 hours of gameplay on Nintendo Switch by 23:59 UTC, 28th February 2025
At time of registration and purchase, be a purchaser of an active Nintendo Switch Online membership; and
Hold an Australia or New Zealand Nintendo Account with a valid delivery address matching the country of your Nintendo Account.
The upside is that if you register on day one, but are not selected in the first round, your registration rolls over to the remaining ones.
The Gamesmen
If you live near the store, then you can collect in person, else shipping will be your only option. The store will be doing a midnight release however.
