Dynasty Warriors: Origins delivers new details direct from Tokyo Game Show
At Tokyo Game Show 2024, Koei Tecmo and developer Omega Force revealed a lot of new details for Dynasty Warriors: Origins, a new starting point for the series. You can check out the video below or read on.
In 1 vs. 1,000 combat, players will have to master and alternate between swift and powerful attacks that can break an opponent’s guard. Repeated attacks will increase the protagonist’s “Bravery”, enabling them to use powerful and unique attacks called “Arts”. These “Arts” will be unique to each weapon, so it will be crucial for players to master the various arsenal at their disposal, allowing the protagonist to gain “Rank” and thus improving their skills. You can see some of the weapon types below.
In the thrilling world of strategic battles, players must outwit their opponents with a diverse array of "Tactics" to command allies and orchestrate coordinated assaults. Amassing a formidable "Large Force" of soldiers opens the door to unleashing powerful "Grand Tactics," turning the tide of battle in dramatic fashion. Yet, vigilance is key, as adversaries also possess the capability to rally a "Large Force" and counter with their own "Grand Tactics" in a high-stakes bid for victory.
In the heat of battle, players must not only perfect their protagonist's offensive skills but also fortify their defenses. Mastering the art of the "Parry" is crucial; a well-timed block against an enemy's assault can open up their defenses for a devastating counter. However, some attacks are unblockable, requiring players to deftly dodge and weave, setting themselves up for a strategic counterattack.
The game is dated for release on January 17th 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
