Diablo Immortal might see a limited release in the middle of the year
Diablo Immortal has been a game that has divided the Diablo fanbase, unlike anything else and it is not even out yet, though that might change soon. During the recent investor call, someone had asked about the game and the response was that the game would begin “its first regional tests” during the “middle of 2020.”
What this means is that some countries, will start to see the game soon, which is a common practice for mobile games, as it gives a chance for the developers to test out in app purchases, gameplay mechanics and more, before a world wide release.
Australia has been chosen for a lot of these sorts of releases in the past, due to our population being large enough to get a good amount of data, but not too large as to swamp the devs with feedback. During the call, when asked about Blizzard supporting mobile, J. Allen Brack said:
“When I think about mobile overall for Blizzard, we have our roots in PC gaming. And we’re going to continue to be deeply committed to the PC. But we do think there are opportunities for additional experiences in different ways for players to engage on different kinds of devices,”
Now middle of the year could mean May, it could mean September, and it could mean nothing as we might not get access until it is fully released, which as of right now, has no date set. The last update we got, was the below video, shown at BlizzCon 2019.
Are you excited for this next chapter in the Diablo saga, or are you waiting for Diablo 4 instead?
