Baldur's Gate 3 gets a big patch, which welcomes the next playable class, the Barbarian

It has been a while since we heard from Larian Studios about Baldur’s Gate 3, but with the airing of Panel From Hell: 5th Edition, that has changed and while the livestream had a lot to share, the big takeaway is the seventh major patch - Absolute Frenzy, heralds the arrival of the Barbarian.

Patch 7 opens up new ways to approach adventuring in Faerun, like a fog of war mechanic that obfuscates unexplored rooms, and tweaks to Darkvision and light/dark detection that make for much more effective stealth gameplay. The full patch notes will be available on Steam with a more in-depth look at what’s changed, but below are some highlights.

The full show was streamed on Twitch, but the replay will be available via the studios YouTube channel, should you want to see everything they talked about.

The full patch notes can be found here and if you are interested in the game, you can get it now via early access, but the full release isn’t likely to be until either later this year, or early 2023.
