Access to the campaign for Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is being granted early for those who pre-order digitally
Activision have announced that anyone who pre-orders Call of Duty Modern Warfare II digitally, will get early access to the games campaign, one week before those who buy it in retail stores do.
If you are not sure what the campaign is all about, here is a little blurb from the developers, which should get you interested.
This Campaign features missions in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and is set to be an incredible experience on numerous levels: offshore sieges with underwater combat, all-out explosive assaults from 30,000 feet above enemy strongholds, and high-stakes, low-profile stealth missions in both plain sight and under the cover of darkness.
Pre-orders can be anything from the base game, to Vault Edition, but again it must be digital so putting down some money at your local game store will not get you early access to this.
If you do opt to order the game early, you will also get access to the Multiplayer beta, which is set to take place over two weekends, depending on the platform you are on, full details for that are here.
In fact the timeline for Call of Duty content is kinda loaded over the next few months, there is the Call of Duty Next event coming on September 16, the two beta weekends and then the staggered launch for the game. It is so loaded, they even made an infographic to showcase it all, just note some dates below are for the USA, not for us, but the games launch date is the same globally.
Finally, with all this talk about the games campaign, we did get a few new screens from it to enjoy, check those out below.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II will release on PC, PlayStation and Xbox on October 28.
