Season 4 is on its way for Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Warzone
Activision have announced the first details for Season 4 for both Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty Warzone 2.0. The new season brings new maps, for both games, modes, weapons and more.
Below is the handy infographic, which outlines what you can expect from both games, but more details are below it.
First let us talk about the new map for Warzone, Vondel. This European inspired location will offer up three game modes, Resurgence, DMZ and the all-new Lockdown. This new mode will have players capturing and holding zones, in order to earn points with match length being double of a traditional hardpoint match. You will want to jump in at launch though, as the event is only around for 2 weeks.
Vondel on DMZ adds new story missions, the Phalanx faction, the Signal Intelligence Contract, and dynamic fog. The Vondel map also includes a new Tactical Amphibious Vehicle, which has to be earned and more
Moving on to Modern Warfare II, players will find six new maps to play on, 2 new modes, new gunfight blueprints, five new operators and much more. Maps are the core of it all, so let us start there.
There will be two maps there on launch day Showdown and Kunstenaar District, with Mercado, Penthouse, Mawizeh Marsh and Ahkdar Village all coming later in the season. If Showdown looks familiar, that is because it is originally from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and is currently present in the Ahkdar Village area of Al Mazrah.
Now, as part of Season 04, this iconic map drops into Modern Warfare II at Season 04’s launch. It’s a great place to practice for those hot drops . . . or just drop airstrikes and helicopter Killstreaks with Gold weapons just like old times.
For those looking for a more refined map experience, there is Kunstenaar District, or when translated Arts District. It features a row of town houses, boutique shops, a central plaza, and a swimmable canal along its west flank.
Check out the street art throughout the map as you battle along its classic three-lane design. Use the Shadow Company trucks and other vehicles for cover as you move up the main roads, and race across the map’s scattered interior locations to quickly change from lane to lane.
As far as new operators are concerned, players will have Nikto, Io, Ana Vega, Izanami and Butch to choose from, some of them are coming at launch, others part way through the season.
There is far more information on the season, including the new guns, more detail on the extra maps and more and you can read all of it on the official website.
The season will launch on June 14th for all platforms, so the wait isn’t that long.
