Life is Strange Remastered is coming to Switch next month, with a new name the Arcadia Bay Collection
Way back in 2021, Square Enix announced that Life is Strange 1 and 2 would be hitting Switch, alongside other platforms, but they delayed the remasters in order to give them the time they needed. Come to January 2022 and the Switch version was revealed to not be releasing alongside the others and would delayed again and now some 8 months later, we finally know when.
Life is Strange Remastered, is now known as Life is Strange Arcadia Bay Collection and will arrive onto Switch on September 27.
Jon Brooke, Co-Head of Studio at Square Enix External Studios states: “Firstly I’d like to recognise DON’T NOD for creating the incredible original Life is Strange, and offer thanks to Deck Nine Games for taking the emotional on-screen performance of these beloved characters to a new level in these new editions. Bringing these award-winning stories to the Nintendo Switch for the very first time was essential for us, as was the care the Deck Nine team have shown during their development. We’re excited to welcome a whole host of new players to these must-play games.”
As this is a collection, it features not only the first two games within the Life is Strange series, True Colors (American spelling) is already available. In addition to the games, it will also come with:
Remastered visuals improved and optimised for Switch across characters and environments
Improved character animation using full facial mocap performance (Life is Strange Remastered)
Choice and consequence driven stories with multiple endings
Harness the power of Max’s rewind ability or Chloe’s quick-witted attitude to change the course of events
Every track from the distinct licensed soundtrack & original scores
The collection will also be released at retail, something that wasn’t planned for its early 2022 release, so a small silver lining here.
