Star Wars Battlefront II gets an open beta this October

Electronic Arts and DICE have announced that Star Wars Battlefront II will be getting an open beta ahead of its November release. This October, players will be able to take their favourite heroes to battle in the large scale 20 v 20 Galactic Assault mode on Theed City, joining Republic clone troopers and Separatist battle droids in a wild melee on the streets surrounding the royal palace. Also included in the multiplayer beta is a Starfighter Assault battle, where fans can jump into the cockpit of some of the most memorable starfighters from Star Wars.

For those that pre-order the game, access will be granted on October 4th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, with open access starting on October 6th. The entire period for the beta is until October 9th, so players will have a few solid days of access.

Electronic Arts are going in massively at Gamescom in August, so expect a lot of new details from the game to be announced there. For more details check out the official blog post.
