E3 2015 - Hands On With The Rest Of The Nintendo Goodies

Nintendo had a number of games on show and while I did not get to play them all, here are the others I had sometime with, while not as much time as I would have liked, it was still nice to sample the games.

The Legend of Zelda Tri Force Heroes

The first thing of note here is how they changed how Triforce is written to Tri Force, the other is that the game feels like Four Swords Adventure, but with only three. Rather than reading about it, check out the game in motion.

Mario & Luigi Paper Jam

Fans of the Mario & Luigi series will be happy that the series is returning, but this time Paper Mario is joining the fight. Controlling the three plumbers is straight forward with A, B and X used for jumping each of them respectively. The added bonus of having Paper Mario is his ability to get to places the others can’t like through small gaps.

Combat is still the same as it is in past games, though now you can add Paper Mario into the mix for some massive attacks and killer combos. Paper Mario can also create a lot of copies of himself in battle which allows for some pretty cool sights.

Mario Tennis Ultra Smash

Mario is back on the court in this all new Mario Tennis title, which surprisingly does not require Wii Remotes to play. The movement is controlled by the stick, and the face buttons do your hits, depending on which type you want to use.

The only crazy part to the game that was on show at E3 was the Mega Mushroom, which as expected caused the recipient to grow to a larger size. While cool it actually became a problem when I was serving as Bowser as he was so large, when the ball came back towards me it became quite a problem to see where it was going to land. There are plus sides as the lady from Nintendo I was facing off against had lined up her shot, but as the ball went overhead, her size returned to normal and the ball sailed right past.

It is cool that the game supports two players, with one on the Gamepad and the other on the TV
