Zombies are back in Call of Duty Vanguard, continuing the tale started in Black Ops Cold War
Call of Duty has revealed the details about Vanguard’s Zombies game mode, including the key fact that it connects to last years Black Ops Cold War, check out the reveal trailer below.
Continuing the tale from Black Ops Cold War, players will once again take on the Dark Aether, as mortals have taken to bond with it, gaining power, but at a cost they don’t fully understand. Set within the ruins of Stalingrad during World War 2, this is a story that will reach into the darkest corners of the occult.
It all began with the opening of the Dark Aether gateway at Projekt Endstation. After the Nazi experiment went catastrophically wrong and punched a hole through the dimensional veil, the effects travelled far and wide; more than anyone could have ever known.
As is usually the case, there is a dark power that seeks control and Kortifex the Deathless is that being this time, but rather than do the work himself, he has bonded with a Nazi officer, Oberführer Wolfram Von List, to help him win. But he is only one of the five Dark Aether entities, the other four Saraxis the Shadow, Norticus the Conqueror, Inviktor the Destroyer, and Bellekar the Warlock are doing all they can to stop him and that means joining forces with the humans that you play as.
Two important things of note here is that the Zombies mode is fully cross-play and cross-gen, meaning that across platforms and generations so that you can team up with your best allies, no matter what platform they play on.
The other more important and cooler part is that progression continues with you here, so if you are getting destroyed in Vanguard’s Multiplayer, you can step into Zombies for a while and keep levelling up, so your progression doesn’t come to a shambling halt.

Call of Duty Vanguard will launch on November 5 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with a campaign, multiplayer suite and of course Zombies.
