Call of Duty Vanguard will offer an experience like no other in the series history
Activision have taken the wrap off Call of Duty Vanguard, which is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, along with support by Treyarch, Raven Software and Beenox and coming to the usual platforms on November 5, check out the trailer below.
Much like the recent single player offerings from Battlefield, in Call of Duty Vanguard, you are no longer a one man army, heck you are not always a man, instead you get to play as multiple members of Task Force One, a multi-national group that will take you across the four major fronts of World War II.
These are the heroes you will fight as:
Private Lucas Riggs, 20th Battalion, Australian 9th Infantry Division, British Eighth Army.
Sergeant Arthur Kingsley of the 9th Parachute Battalion, British Army.
Lieutenant Wade Jackson, Scouting Squadron Six, United States Navy.
Lieutenant Polina Petrova of the 138th Rifle Division, Red Army.
Each of the playable characters will have to overcome the desperation and chaos of war, each rising from the trenches to become one of the original Operatives; the prototype for the modern special forces soldier as they fight for victory in tide-turning battles across the globe.
While you will be playing as different characters, the stories are connected, so no matter if you are engaging enemies across the Eastern and Western Fronts of Europe, or instead fighting for the free world throughout the Pacific and North Africa, it is one massive story.
That of course, is only the single player content, multiplayer is still going to be a key focus for the series and what has to be a record, as Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to feature a massive day one multiplayer offering, with 20 maps available at launch including 16 built for core gameplay.
With maps that range offer up adrenaline-fueled action, the iconic Call of Duty combat is the name of the game as you rise through the ranks in your journey to become one of the original Special Forces Operators.
Sledgehammer Games is bringing the fast-paced tactical first-person combat and further innovating it with many more ways to play. These include an advanced Gunsmith and Caliber system that brings immersive and reactive environments to a new level, and the next generation of the seminal 2v2 Gunfight mode first introduced in Modern Warfare; Champion Hill. Imagine quick-action, close-quarters, small-squad combat in which eight teams compete in a series of head-to-head matchups where the last team standing wins.
For years now, Call of Duty has been a three pronged offering, with Single Player, Multiplayer and Zombies and Vanguard will continue that trend, but this time it will be a little different, as the Zombies mode here is being developed by the creators of it, Treyarch.
This cooperative experience continues and intertwines with the Dark Aether story to create deeply engaging lore, all while innovating on the core gameplay that the mode is famous for. Discover the unspeakable horrors of the precursor to Black Ops Cold War Zombies while holding off the relentless onslaught of the undead when Vanguard launches on November 5. If you can’t wait that long, more details are expected as we get closer to the spooky season.
Finally, Call of Duty Warzone is getting overhauled with an all new map, with Raven Software leading the work there Call of Duty: Warzone will also continue to honour your past gameplay experiences as universal progression is set to continue. This means that players of Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard can look forward to the following:
