Ubisoft has delayed Skull and Bones once more, now expecting to release it in March 2023
In a move that is part surprising and part par for the course, Ubisoft have announced that Skull and Bones has been delayed, again and will now release on March 9, 2023.
The reason for the delay this time, additional polish, the full statement though can be read below.

Today we'd like to give you an update regarding release date. Although Skull and Bones' development is finished at this stage, The invaluable feedback received during our various technical tests and insider program convinced us we could use a bit of extra time to polish and balance the experience even further and ensure you all get the best experience we can offer.
We have therefore decided to push our initial launch date to 9th March, 2023. We will be organizing more insider program sessions to continue gathering feedback. And in case you haven't had the chance to participate yet. You can also look forward to our open beta in the near future! Thank you for your support and stay tuned for more information.

This now marks delay number who knows.. the game was revealed back in 2017 and was then aiming for a late 2018 release. It was then delayed into 2019 and then to sometime in 2020, before being delayed in 2019 until at least April 2021, with news coming in May that the game was being delayed another 12 months. It was only back in July of 2022 that the game was given an actual date and now that has slipped.
Of course, those are the only dates we know publicly, there could be dozens of planned dates internally that were never met. Either way, those looking to sale the seas this year, had best jump into Sea of Thieves as it looks to be the only option.
