The Wild Robot gets its first trailer ahead of its September release
Universal and Dreamworks have released the first trailer for The Wild Robot, an all-new animated movie by the creator of Lilo & Stitch and co-director for How to Train your Dragon. The movie itself is based off the book of the same name, written by Peter Brown. Check out the trailer below.
The movies story will follow the book, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to find some slight changes here. This is the official synopsis of the movie.
The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.
Lupita Nyong’o is the voice of Roz and is joined by Pedro Pascal as Fink the fox, Catherine O’Hard as Pinktail the opossum, Bill Nighy as Longneck the goose, Kit Conner as Brightbill the gosling and Stephanie Hsu as Vontra, another robot that will interact with Roz. Mark Hamill, Matt Berry and Ving Rhames round out the cast, but their characters were not revealed.
The movie will hit Australian screens on September 12, so still plenty of months to go.
