The Six Masters are making a return to the Melbourne eSports Open

Ubisoft Australia has announced that the Six Masters, is making a return in 2019 and is set to be bigger and better than ever before and the highlight of the news, the finals will take place at the Melbourne eSports Open, with Rainbow Six Siege set to take over Margret Court Arena.

Sebastian Østfeldt, Esports Business Analyst at Ubisoft Australia, said, “We could not be more excited to bring the Six Masters to the Melbourne Esports Open in 2019. Following the tremendous success of last year’s event, our goal this year is to create something even bigger and better for our passionate community. Giving eight teams the opportunity to compete in front of thousands of fans in Margaret Court Arena is the perfect way to achieve that goal.”

The online, round-robin group stage will kick off in June and see twelve teams compete online in best-of-3 matches. These matches will be broadcast every Saturday and Sunday, from Saturday 22nd June until Sunday 21st July. The top eight teams will then make their way to the finals at the Melbourne Esports Open where they will battle it out in single-elimination, best-of-3 matches for the title of Six Masters 2019.

That is a lot of information, in fact the only thing are yet to know is the prize pool, what will these players be competing for, all we know for now is that will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for the Melbourne eSports Open can be bought via the official website or via Ticketek. But worry not, if you are not able to make it in person, you can catch all the action on the official Twitch channel.
