The plus in Ubisoft+ has rotated a bit, as the service has arrived on Xbox

Having launched on PC a while ago and PlayStation last year, Ubisoft have finally brought their Ubisoft+ service to Xbox owners, though its not as straight forward as it should be.

The service that Xbox owners have access to is called Ubisoft+ Multi Access and is $23.95 per month, this means for the price you can access a decent library of Xbox titles from the French publisher, along with DLC for them and 10% off any in-game currency that you buy.

The catch is that you can’t just get it for Xbox consoles, if you subscribe you have to pay the extra cost over the PC subscription. The standard PC plan, which you can subscribe to offers the same benefits, the Multi Access just includes Xbox in that, but if you don’t have a PC, you still have to pay for it.

Those on PlayStation don’t have access to this level of service yet, as their access is tied to the PlayStation Plus Deluxe or Extra tiers. Xbox owners do not need to have Game Pass to subscribe to this service.

So why does the Xbox version include PC and cost more?

“The goal is to give access to the entire catalogue. So, there are all the games and content we have with as few exceptions as possible, and all games that were available on the Xbox platform are available through a Ubisoft+ subscription. One of the biggest advantages to playing with a Ubisoft+ Multi Access subscription is that not only do you get the base game, but for many titles you get DLC as well and some extra in-game perks, so there’s really a great value built into the service.”

While I can appreciate the effort in getting it off the ground, I can’t appreciate the paying for a platform you might not have. If the Xbox only was the same price and the Multi Access included both, that would be fine, but right now it just seems like you are being charged more on Xbox.
