The Gates of Oblivion are ajar with the Flames of Ambition coming to PC

Bethesda have announced that The Elder Scrolls Online are kicking off the Gates of Oblivion with the first update in the year long quest. Flames of Ambition is out for the game on PC, consoles still to come and in it, players will discover two new epic dungeons and introducing a host of free changes and improvements for all players, including a redesigned Champion System for high-level players.

Those who are looking for the update on consoles, will have to wait until next week, as it won’t release until March 16.

For those looking for new dungeons the game has them, with Black Drake Villa and the most normal sounding name ever, The Cauldron.

In Black Drake Villa, players will team up with the adventurous Wood Elf scout Eveli Sharp-Arrow and search the hidden archives of a once-proud mansion that is now home to monsters and arsonists.

In The Cauldron, the cult of the Waking Flame has enslaved the local townsfolk and now excavates sinister ruins deep within a long-forgotten mine. With the help of the Dremora Lyranth, players will battle their way through Daedric beasts and cultists, free the captives, and put a stop to their plans

That is all included in the Flames of Ambition, which is included within active ESO Memberships, or can be bought on its own.

For all players though, there is update 29. Part of that update is the redesigned Champion System, which will allow players to better tailor their characters to their chosen playstyles using three updated constellation groups. The changes also introduce a champion bar, allowing players to slot up to four powerful passive boons for each constellation.

In addition to the new Champion System, Update 29 includes other improvements and fixes, including an updated character sheet that shows advanced stats. Players will now better see how changes to their character (be it via Champion Points, abilities, gear, or attributes) impact their effectiveness.

All the details of what is included in the update can be found here.
