The future of Assassin's Creed is looking bright, with three new games and more announed
As part of Ubisoft Forward, it was revealed that three new Assassin’s Creed titles are on the way, but details on them are not fully available. In fact, not a single one of them has a full name, just codenames, but it is nice to see that the series future is looking bright.
The first game is the one we know the most about and that is Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade, a mobile game, which will offer the same open world experience that players have come to know, so not like other mobile games. But the setting for this will be in China and for the first time ever, players will get to create their own avatar.
The second game that got shown off, was perhaps the one that made the internet happiest, as it is set in feudal Japan, where the main character is a Shinobi. It is currently called Assassin’s Creed: Project Red. In fact this game is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec (makers of Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Assassin's Creed Syndicate) with Creative Director Jonathan Dumont. The game will be the next evolution of Assassin's Creed's open-world RPG design
Finally, the last one to be shown off, is the one we know the least about and that is Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe, which to me both the trailer below and main logo design, make me think Salem.
While specifics are light, we also got confirmation of Assassin’s Creed Infinity. This is the official description on Infinity:
RED and HEXE will both be a part of Assassin's Creed Codename INFINITY, a hub that will connect players through different types of Assassin's Creed experiences, old and new. INFINITY will also bring multiplayer back to Assassin's Creed with a standalone experience.
Some people are taking this to me a Fortnite style game will be included, others are thinking something else, but for now we need to wait on details.
We also got confirmation that the Assassin’s Creed series at Netflix is moving right along, with Jeb Stuart set to be the showrunner for the production. His credits included writing Die Hard and more recently Vikings: Valhalla.
