Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown delays until 2024 among a bevy of new details
While it has been a while since we have heard anything from the game, Nacon and developer KT Racing took to the digital stage this week to deliver a 30 minute long update on Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown.
First the bad news, the game will not release in 2023 and will instead come out sometime in the early months of 2024, the exact date is not yet known. But taking from that, the game will be hosting a 3-day closed beta test starting on July 24th on all platforms, to gather important player feedback. To put your hand up for a chance, you just need to visit the official site and sign up for the newsletter.
Of course to learn about everything that the presentation offered and there was a lot, watching it is your best bet, you can do that below.
Now we need to venture into the realm of speculation. When the game was first announced the line up of platforms was this:
PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5
Xbox One & Xbox Series XS
Switch
PC
Last year the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were dropped, leaving the newer models of those console families, along with Switch and PC.
In the official press release and even the end screen from the end of the video, the Switch is not mentioned, however it is still listed on the website. Given the website has been updated post the show with the new release date, its possible the game is still coming, or the developers just didn’t think to remove the game from the page. It is also possible that the game will come out on Switch 2 or whatever the next platform is called.
Either way, the game is not out until 2024, so there is a wait ahead, but hopefully they can clarify that point for fans who need to know.
