Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown delays until 2023 and drops some platforms
In a blog post released via Steam, Nacon have announced that Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown will no longer release in September of this year as planned, but will instead release in 2023
As of now, there is no window within 2023, just the year itself, so it could technically release on January 1st or December 31st, we just don’t know. The reason for the delay is to give the developer more time to make it better.
“Our goal is to meet those expectations and to stay true to the franchise's DNA by including all those details. But we also want to go further and offer new experiences. We want to make all of Hong Kong Island and its 550km of roads to be a no-limits playground where the fun never ends.“
Game delays are never fun, but it is nice to see the developer ensuring they have the time to make it right.
With the news of the delay, also comes word that the game will no longer see a release on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, meaning that if you have those consoles still and want to play the game, you either need to upgrade your console, or get a Switch or PC. They threw the cancellation of the platforms in on the very last line of the statement.
“NACON has decided to no longer develop Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown for PlayStation®4 and Xbox One.”
