Surprise, Hades II has awoken and is now in early access
Having hosted a technical alpha just a few short weeks ago, there was hopes that Hades II would enter its planned early access period soon after and it seems the developers at Supergiant Games knew it would, as without any sort of fanfare, the game has released. Check out the newest trailer below.
So what is the first ever sequel from the studio about, the below blurb should give you a good idea. This was provided by the studio:
Hades II is a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you'll battle beyond the Underworld of Greek myth using dark sorcery to take on the sinister Titan of Time. It builds on the best aspects of the award-winning original in an all-new, action-packed, endlessly replayable experience rooted in Greek myth and its deep connections to the dawn of witchcraft.
This is an early access release, which means that what you are getting here is only a small portion of the final game and while the developers have plans for a major update later in the year, there is no word on when or what it will contain. The plan for now is to remain in early access through til the end of 2024, but as player feedback will dictate what happens in the long run, that could very well change.
You can pick up the game now on both Steam and Epic Game Stores, with the Steam version certified for Steam Deck, if you have one of those.
