Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
Considered the most insane deal in gaming, Game Pass Ultimate provides four levels of service, first it gives Xbox Live Gold, which allows for online gaming on any Xbox console and with that program, you get Games with Gold, four free titles a month. It also provides Game Pass for both console and PC, letting you download hundreds of games to your platform and game for as long as you would like, think Netflix but for games and the fourth offering is Xbox Cloud Gaming, which means you no longer need to buy an Xbox console, or have the latest PC, just a web browser and an internet connection and you can game anywhere, Forza Horizon 5 on your phone?

PlayStation Plus
If you are buying for someone on PlayStation, then PlayStation Plus is critical, not only does it allow for online gaming, but it also provided 3 included titles every month, some months are smaller games, sometimes it is debut releases. Plus (pun not intended) on PlayStation 5, you get the PS+ Collection, which gives you 20 additional titles out of the gate.

Xbox Live Gold
Xbox Live Gold is included in Game Pass Ultimate, see above for that, but if you just want the basics, then this is for you, the service is cheaper than the Ultimate plan, but only allows for online gaming and four included games each month.

Nintendo Switch Online
Not to be left behind, Nintendo have moved to the pay to access online play model, but they have some amazing benefits instead. First is that your membership grants you access to the release of four classic consoles, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 and Mega Drive, which as of right now is around 130 games, with more being added every few months. Plus there are games like Tetris 99 and Pac-Man 99 to enjoy, oh and members can also purchase replica controllers for those classic consoles.

Amazon Prime is here mostly for the gaming side of things, but the Prime membership does also give you discounted shipping, video and music, so it is a very well rounded program. Leaving things at the gaming level, there are free games given away each month, but beyond that, there are dozens of in-game items to enjoy, sometimes these are skins for Fortnite, other times its character packs for SMITE and then something else again. Plus it gives one free month of a subscription to a Twitch streamer, so you can support them as well.
Apple Arcade
If you game on your iPhone or iPad, then Apple Arcade is a must, it offers great value for the money, more so when you consider the games don’t all need to be online to enjoy them, plus most are playable on a Mac and Apple TV.
Google Play Pass
Google Play Pass is the same as above, except for Android devices, not Apple, plus like Apple Arcade, the service can be shared across a family of users, so if your family is all in the Android ecosystem, you can share the pass across their phones or tablets and all can play.
